When Recoating Makes Sense
Recoating is an option for floors with light surface wear and an existing finish that can accept a new coat. We assess the surface, previous maintenance products, and finish compatibility before recommending it.
This service can be useful when you want to maintain your floors or refresh their appearance before a move, a gathering, or a home update.

What a Recoat Can and Cannot Do
The process prepares the existing finish and adds a new protective topcoat. It can improve dullness and the appearance of minor surface wear, but it does not remove deep scratches, repair damaged boards, or change the stain color beneath the finish.
If wear extends into the wood, we may recommend sanding and refinishing or local repairs instead.

A Shorter Project with Time to Dry
Some recoating projects can be completed in one day, depending on floor area, preparation, and the finish used. Completion of the coating work does not mean the floor is fully cured. We explain when you can walk on it and when furniture and rugs can return.

No. Recoating renews a suitable existing finish. Refinishing involves sanding the wood surface and applying a new finish system.
Can you recoat a floor that has been waxed?
Wax or other residues can interfere with adhesion. We check the surface and explain whether recoating is suitable or another treatment is needed.
Can recoating remove dark stains or deep scratches?
Usually not. These may require sanding, repairs, or board replacement, depending on their depth and cause.
